HELP AT H.O.M.E. REPORT ~ Jim Robinson
Jim spent a little time discussing, mostly for the new members, Welcome Aldrich and Help at Home. Welcome Aldrich has been in place for 70 years, with an original donation of $400.00. It was, and continues to be, the mechanics by which disbursements are made for the needy.
Jim distributed the Financial Report dated January 31, 2013, which gives a good view as to where we are. The combined balance is $38,763.26. The right hand column of the financial report gives a cumulative of all the activity since Help at Home was set up four and one-half (4 ½ ) years ago. An approximate total of $100,000.00 was raised and approximately $78,000.00 was disbursed since Help at Home’s inception. Welcome Aldrich is technically a trust fund held by the town. Help at Home is a working account. The excess funds from Help at Home are transferred back to Welcome Aldrich at the end of the activity year, which is usually April or May.
Louise distributed the 2nd edition of Help at Home booklets to the board members.

We are offering 2 new programs. The first one, Healthy Steps is a fun gentle exercise and movement program to great music designed to help you thrive. The Lebed Method is a therapeutic program, suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It can be done standing or sitting in a chair. Healthy Steps benefits those with arthritis, CFS, Parkinson Disease, Fibromyalgia, Lymphedema and other chronic conditions. Invigorating but gentle, Healthy Steps: *Increases Range of Motion; *Enhances Self Image; *Reduces Risk of Lymphedema; *Assists with balance; *Increases energy and *Builds strength. The program will be held on Tuesdays, beginning May 7 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. for 8 weeks. There is no cost to this class thanks to a Holden Cultural Council Grant. Depending on interest,

The Second is Tai Chi. Clare has worked hard to find a Tai Chi instructor that will come here to the Center. Most instructors would prefer to teach at their own studios. Classes will be taught by certified instructor, Gary Lachapelle on Fridays for eight weeks, omitting Friday, July 5, 2013.~ Cost is $32.00 for the 8-week session, payable in full at the first class.~
